Selected Historical Photographs

An initial set of four photographs are presented on this page.

The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Peralta

The Church in About 1900

By this time, the church was already well established, having been completed in 1888 and dedicated in 1892, and Mass was being said here regularly. This picture shows the church with its original flat roof. The pitched roof was added -- to both churches -- in 1912. The towers were added to this church at about the same time.

The Church in About 1916

The pitched roof and towers were added in about 1912. The church's exterior appearance is largely unchanged since this picture was taken.

The Interior of the Church in About 1920

The Webmaster's guess is that this picture may have been taken in December, either at the time of the parish Fiesta or in the Christmas season.

The Chapel of Sangre de Cristo, Valencia

The Chapel Before 1941

The chapel's north wall collapsed in the spring of 1941. The entire structure was razed, and rebuilt on a concrete foundation.
